About Us

The Celeste Burgess O.N.E Foundation, better known to all as the CB O.N.E Foundation began in the Summer of 2013. With a vision from Donna Burgess and Family to ensure the life and legacy of Celeste D. Burgess would continue to live on, they wanted to start something that spoke to the heart of Celeste.

The Burgess Family decided shortly after the passing of Celeste, that the best way to carry on her life and legacy would be to start a Non-Profit Organization that provides community enrichment, educational assistance (after-school mentoring and tutoring) and simply giving back to the community through a variety of charitable events held throughout the year.

About Celeste

Celeste Burgess was born in Winston-Salem, NC to Allen & Donna Burgess on January 3, 1997. She grew up in a Christian home and as she became older she gave her life to The Lord. When Celeste was around the age of 4 years old, her father Allen bought her her very first basketball goal. From that day on he knew she had a gift. Everyday she would go outside and shoot on her goal and eventually she would end up at every recreation center just to play basketball or shoot around.

Over the years, she became a master of her craft. Working tirelessly to perfect her game. Always, listening to Coaches and her peers on how to better herself mentally and physically.

When Celeste reached Middle School, she attended Paisley Middle where she helped lead her team to an undefeated season and went on to win the Middle School Championship.

Later, she would join Mt. Tabor High School where she would play her Freshman year and set some pretty impressive marks as a Freshman while there. She played with some great players and built great friendships.

After her Freshman year, she transferred to New Hope Christian Academy in Thomasville, NC where her Head Coach would now be Delaney Rudd. While there, she would play with and against some of the top players in the country. Celeste loved the level of competition and it was something that she lived for.

CB'S BALL

In 2013 The Lady Phoenix finished #13 in the nation behind the coaching of Head Coach Delaney Rudd, who shared a very special bond with Celeste because of her love for the game.

Celeste was highly recruited by the ACC, SEC and then interest started coming in from the Big Ten conferences although Celeste had already recieved 6 offers from several D-I and D-II schools. It truly was an honor to have Wake Forest University recognize her as a Honorary Member of the Women's Demon Deacons 2015-2016 Basketball Team.

During her Summers, Celeste played AAU Basketball with the Winston-Salem Stealers, then the NC Spartans out of Charlotte, NC and finally The Lady Phoenix Elite Team out of Greensboro, NC.
